A Big Gospel Classics Welcome to "Tim Chesney"

Bio of Tim Chesney

Howdy Ya'll,

My name is Tim Chesney. I was born and raised in Southern California. My wife, Lori and I have been married for 15 years and have two wonderful daughters Mallory and Amanda, ages 13 and 19. I started playing guitar at the age of seven, influenced by my father Hugh Chesney who showed me the magic that music brings to the world. I loved entertaining family and friends. I joined my schools band (Walter Knott Elementary) under the direction of Dr. Olsen, where I learned to play the trombone. I continued my music practice by joining band in Jr. High school for three years, and into High School for another two years, and also marched in many parades, and performed at many events. Also was a member of the Jr. High and High School Jazz band. I just couldn't seem to get enough music. Thanks Dad! .... J/K

While still in High School, my brother Kevin and I, along with two of our friends, formed a rock band. My brother played lead guitar, and very very well I may add, and I played bass guitar. Occasionally singing lead vocals and other times I sang harmony for the band. Our band remained together through High School and into our late 20's. Our band performed at such places as the world famous Whiskey A Go Go and The Roxy in Hollywood California. We also performed at many local clubs in our area. At the age of 28 my brother had a car accident and was no longer able to play guitar. After my brothers accident, the band didn't seem the same and eventually seperated. A short time later I was asked to join a band called White Eagle as their bass player. This band had already released 3 albums and was working on their fourth when I was asked to help out. We released that album during my stay with them. Unfortunately, the founder and lead guitar and vocals Jack Pemma died suddenely. Very unexpected, the band was shocked. Again, for me another set back.

It was at that time that I decided to try my luck on my own, as I sure wasn't getting any younger. I built a small recording studio and started recording. at first I was just singing along with background tracks. But with all my years of music I had behind me, I found it more challenging as well as rewarding to do all the music myself. On most of my songs you hear, the music tracks is a combination of my music abilities, and the lack of sound engineering training. Although the more I read and do, the better it seems to get.

In Closing, I would like to thank Arnold (Buck98) Floyd for introducing me to Paltalk, Western Heart Promotions, Gary Bradshaw founder of Western Heart Promotions for the encouragement and for believing in me. Technical Knockout Promotions and all the DJ's from the room that continuously show their support by playing my music day after day.

Forever Grateful, TimChesney

Gospel Classics is Happy to Welcome "Brad Caswell" to our Site!

Brad Caswell pours every ounce of his heart and soul into his music.
No matter what he does, he does his best. "If you're going to do it - do it right," says Brad. And that is exactly what he does where his vocals and performances are concerned.
Brad Caswell's home is on the stage. "When I step off of the stage, it's like I walk out the door of my house. I'm away from home until I go back."
"My fans are like family to me. I try to make my fans feel special. Most people come to me smiling because they enjoyed my show, but I've also had people crying because my show touched their heart -- either way, they left happy. It's a wonderful feeling for me to be able to do this.
Brad's heart has always been filled with music. As a young child he would dance on his bed with a toy guitar while singing Elvis songs. All through his school years, his classmates and teachers would have him performing in front of the class -- on a regular basis. Brad always wanted to be a country music singer, but people would tell him it's a hard business to get into. That didn't stop Brad, who was determined he would be what wanted to be in life no matter what the odds. One day there was a talent contest in high school and Brad decided to enter. He performed, and when he was finished singing, the entire audience - and the auditorium was full of students, most of which did not even know Brad - give him a standing ovation. They called out the winners and when he did not win 1st place, the audience roared. "What about Brad"," Why didn't Brad win?", they cried! He found out later that the judges thought he was lip syncing because he sounded so good - so they didn't pick him pick him because they thought he was cheating. That day, Brad got his real first taste of the stage. "I had people coming to me all day telling me how great I sounded and that they thought I should've won. After the events of that day, I fixated my mind on making it in this business," Brad says.
Word was out, and within a week, he already had a regular singing job at a state park restaurant. Next, radio station owner, Wanda Smith, got word of Brad. She was in charge of the Chester County BBQ Festival. She give him a couple of time slots - but he ended up singing most of that day and the next. When she heard him, within minutes she was broadcasting him live over the radio. Every year since then, he has been the main attraction for the festival.
He has gone on to sing with Loretta Lynn many times, and has opened for many stars including T G Sheppard, Billy Joe Royal, Gene Watson, and Eddie Raven.
"I always do my best and that's what I want to be - the best. I want a recording contract more than anything in the world - period. But I want not just because it's my heart's fulfillment, but for all of the people who have believed in me along the way, and all to whom my success could benefit. Music is what keeps my heart alive."

Gospel Classics Welcomes Romeo and Lockwood!

Jeannie Romeo & Alice Lockwood receive a top honor from the International Airplay King Eagle Awards in Nashville.
TCMA "Country Duet of the Year 2005"

This exciting country duo is comprised of two talented performers and songwriters
who have individually enjoyed extensive musical careers.
Jeannie Romeo, singer-songwriter, began her performing career
at age five, when she was discovered by a local talent scout
and asked to appear on a local TV show.  By age 16, Jeannie had
been signed to Pickwick International Records and was recording
on albums with many legendary artists.  Later, Jeannie signed with
Hansa Records and released a single, "Heaven Is The Man I Love,"
originally a country tune. The single was released in Germany, Austria,
and Switzerland and went on to become a huge success in Europe.
Jeannie has performed at world class venues, such as Las Vegas,
El Morocco in Manhattan.
Although she has enjoyed performing a variety of musical genres,
it has been the teaming with keyboardist-songwriter Alice Lockwood
that has made the real magic happen.
Alice, a gifted musician, began playing at age three, studying classical piano.
Alice and Jeannie have captured the interest of music legends Don and Phil Everly
and have performed in Central City, Kentucky, by special invitation. At a concert,
Lightening Chance, the bassist on some of Patsy Cline's earlier recordings, remarked
about the exceptional star quality of Jeannie's voice and the uniqueness of
Alice's keyboard style.
Country music has been a source of inspiration for Jeannie and Alice since childhood.
They both grew up in small towns with strong family ties, which shows in their
"down to earth" genuine quality which audiences respond to. The response to the CD
"Forever Country" has been tremendous. Their many fans have said that the songs
have touched their lives.
Romeo and Lockwood can keep the audience spellbound with their emotionally
powerful ballads, but they can also rock the house!

A Big Gospel Classics Welcome to "Daniel S. Wilson"

Country Gospel
        105 E. Railroad St., Mechanicsburg, IL. 62545   PH: 217-638-1648

I was born August 9th, 1958, in Murphysboro, IL., and grew up surrounded by a life of country music.
My Dad was one of eleven kids and they were all talented in one way or another, whether it was singing,
playing a musical instrument, dancing or cooking.   Dad was gifted with all four talents having stage
charisma, sang like George Jones, Bill Anderson and Merle Haggard all in one while he picked his guitar
like Carl Perkins. Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons was always the best time for a country jam.
Anyone and everyone were welcome to join in.   My cousins were always rnad at me because I wanted to
stay and play music with the 'old folks'.  Some Saturday nights we would go to my Uncle Carl's house
and watch the Grand Ole Opry.  It was such a treat because we didn't have a TV.  Most of the time we
didn't even have electricity.  We were poor, but blessed in so many ways. We moved to Springfield IL.
when I was 13. Anytime I was troubled or upset, I would shut myself in my room, play my guitar and sing
my troubles away for hours.  Music has always been a very important part of my life.  I believe it helped
keep me out of trouble. An old friend, an awesome drummer, had come back into my life. At that time,
we both worked at Shepardo's restaurant. Mike was 16, delivering pizzas. At only!4, I was a bus boy &
dishwasher. I'll never forget how mad I was when Mike told me he had booked us for a 'paying'job. I told
him he had lost his mind, that we were not good enough to play in public. It wasn't until I was 21 and
married that I started my first band 'Backlash' (28 years ago!).......I've been entertaining ever since
& loving every minute!

I have played in many places in my life and have touched many people. I didn't realize, until I was older,
just how much I had touched other hearts. For many years I played country music in bars, but I never failed
to close the show with a gospel song. That was my way of saying 'thank you' to God for giving us the blessing
of music.  Over the years I have made many friends, made a lot of money and paid a lot of bills, but I never
forget to thank God and believe that is why I'm still blessed today. Yes I still have bills - and He always
allows me to pay them. Growing up I dreamed of being a big country star, singing at the 'Grand Ole Opry'.
In the fall of 2000, while taking a tour at Ryman Auditorium, I was told I could sing & play guitar on that
legendary stage. I was overcome with joy and tears. Since she granted my dream, I sang, with all my heart,
to the elderly ticket lady. I sang 'A Closer Walk With Thee'. As I sang to her, she just cried. Afterward,
she said 3 weeks prior she had been diagnosed with cancer and my song showered her with a truly peaceful
feeling. I know tfiatGod put me in her life that day. It was then that I knew I was to sing of God's Glory
and have done so ever since. My 1st CD, The Dream', is God's gift to me. It was paid for by the gift of song
and faith that God granted to me.  I love to hear the stories of how it touches the lives of those who hear it.
I tell them I'm just a tool in God's hands. My 'Dream' is to continue playing, singing and sharing God's Love
& Blessings with everyone.

      Thanks Be to God's Glory,
        Daniel S. Wilson

BARRY McGUIRE

BIOGRAPHY

Barry McGuire stepped into the public eye in 1963 on the Andy Williams Show as the gravelly voiced lead singer of the New Christy Minstrels. He launched his musical career with the million-sellers "Green, Green" and "Green Back Dollar."

In 1965, at the heart of the peace movement, McGuire went solo. His third hit "Eve of Destruction" echoed around the world as an anthem of the times. Three years later, Barry was cast as the male lead in the original Broadway production of the musical "Hair." Dick Clark said, "When world events collide with "Rock&Roll" you get Barry McGuire!"

In the early '70s Barry's life took a new direction. Having found his answer to the "Eve of Destruction, as he describes it, "by stumbling into the Fullness of Truth" he left Hollywood and set out to do what ever he could to bring about positive change. Barry's transformation is exemplified in the lyrics of his music, which now focuses on the importance of family, the value of children, and Barry's personal journey through life.

In 1988/89/90 Barry teamed up with World Vision in New Zealand and sang with more than twenty thousand children from over four hundred primary schools in 57 different cities. These concerts generated nearly two thousand sponsors for third-world children.

In 1994, Barry reunited with his old "New Christy Minstrel" friends and they completed a season (250

shows) at the Sierra Land Theater, in Oakhurst California, calling themselves

"A Gathering of Minstrels. At present they are on a worldwide tour.. .and still filling the theatres!

In February of 1995, Barry McGuire and Terry Talbot got together and started singing some of the old folk songs they used to sing back in the sixties. In the beginning they sang the songs just because they liked the way it felt to sing and harmonize together. Then they discovered that people of all ages liked it too. Their audiences responded with such joy and enthusiasm to the new old music, they received two and sometimes even three standing "O" encores at the end of each show.

Today-2007, Frogtown Records presents Barry McGuire in two of his greatest performances. Doug Brookins, Executive producer says of this new release..."Mr. Hakk N' Koff is a vocal satire which makes a strong anti-smoking statement. "I Pledge Allegiance" expresses the importance of God and Country with a new twist. Both tunes are political hot potatoes no doubt!" Our arranger, Tony Davilio, also scored John Lennon's last album, Double Phantasy.

In addition, D. Brookins' has produced a hard hitting, controversial yet hysterically funny anti smoking cartoon for the Mr. Hakk N'Koff musical release.. .written and directed by Rome Viharo and assisted by heavy hitters such as Carey Yost (Sponge Bob Square Pants) and Paul Ruddish, Emmy award winning animator for Star Wars cartoon. Of course it's Barry's vocal that is the driving force behind this unique cartoon production, which may be viewed after May 1 on YouTube and PodcastPlayhouse.net.

North Carolina native and Grand Ole Opry Star George Hamilton IV has joined with The Captain’s Crew from the Outer Banks to record a new album featuring the songs of hymn writer Fanny Crosby. Lamon Records from Charlotte, NC is handling the release and marketing of the album titled "Tenderly Calling".

Known as the International Ambassador of Country and Gospel Music, Hamilton has just celebrated 50 years in the music business. His first record, "A Rose and A Baby Ruth", took him to the top of the pop charts, while the hit record, "Abilene", launched his country career and helped to make him the international star he is today. In most recent years, he has concentrated on gospel music and has performed at the Crusades of Dr. Billy Graham.

The Captain’s Crew has been playing and singing for over 10 years. "Tenderly Calling" is the group’s 5th album. When asked about the new album, Dave Moody, President of Lamon Records said, "The songs of Fanny Crosby are timeless and a gift from God to the church. George Hamilton IV and The Captain’s Crew bring the songs to life in a new and fresh way - Sunday morning, country style."

Gospel Classics extends a Warm Welcome to Country Gospel Artist Billy Chernoff!

Just out for Summer 2007, Award Winning recording Artist Billy Chernoff's New CD  "A Better Way"

Billy Chernoff....."A Better Way"

Billy began his work career by grooming and exercising racehorses in Vancouver, British Columbia. Music, however, was always a big part of his life from the very early start. He sang in choirs as a child and started writing his own songs at fourteen years of age when he received his first instrument - a guitar. Later he started playing in clubs in the Toronto, Ontario area.
He felt the magnetic pull of Music City, USA and so predictably moved to Nashville, Tennessee to write and record for RCA Victor, the prime label of the era. He was pleased to join the top label headed by his hero Chet Atkins.
Chernoff has been a highly successful country artist in Canada, recording hit songs such as No Lonelier Than You on Spartan Records (number 10 on Canada's record charts), Susie's Better Half on RCA Canada (top five), and When You Were A Lady on RCA Canada (number one). To Ma Ray, Tom O Ray, a song on RCA produced by Ronny Light in RCA's Studio B in Nashville, topped Canada's RPM record charts and charted regionally in the U.S.
Crisp and clean with a modem feel that doesn't forget or leave behind its country roots, the songs on "A Better Way" range from modern/contemporary country to a few with a folk/roots slant. Billy sings about the pain, humor, and trials of life with a rich, deep voice that is clearly unrivaled by many in today's music. Gentle-on-the-ear and communicative, there's nothing tasteless about this 5-star country-Americana undertaking. Country music fans across the board will find much to enjoy in his new CD.
"Through Hell With You" is the first single at radio now and is currently being released nation wide. It can be downloaded at www.readyforplay.com

THE BEST IS YET TO COME

Uneasy at the thought of dwelling too much on past successes(of which he has many), Billy says, “Without doubt, I think the best is yet to come! … I feel very fortunate to have been influenced by some of the people I've know along the way.

It's been a privilege and a joy to travel the USA and Canada taking my brand of North American country and cowboy music to the people and making my living from it! …I enjoyed even the small and medium-size venues as well as the bigger clubs, associations, and music festivals. For the most part, I have been flying under the media's radar and not creating too much fuss or hype. Now in 2006 with the release of the ‘Life Songs’ album that may be changing. Inter-denominational opportunities are presenting themselves for my music ministry. I would call that a highlight that is beginning to hatch.”

The Chernoffs have three kids of whom they are rightly proud. “In 2006 we have two girls aged 9 and 12 named Meagan Mabel and Catherine Grace. We also have a boy aged 15 called John William. They all live in Vancouver, British Columbia with their Mom (Dianne Lynn) and me, of course, when I'm not on the road. To spend quality time with my kids is an essential for me.

We make home in between three different locations – Vancouver-BC, Grand Forks-BC, and Nashville-TN. We raise our children in Vancouver so I spend as much time there as I can. My 91 year ‘young’ Father resides mostly in Grand Forks-BC my hometown so I pass through there as much as I can, and of course I work out of Nashville. That’s where my record company is and my immediate network of people that I work with are.”

While being interviewed for a segment of the ‘Grace and Glory’ Christian radio show in Mexia, Texas in the summer of 1999, Billy says that he came to realize that the oral tradition of worship and teaching (that he had been raised with) had left out a most important part of the Christian experience.

He says, “Truth dawned on me- as it did Nicodemus in his encounter with Christ recorded in John’s Gospel (John 3:5) in the New Testament. Christ declared that all men need to be ‘born again’ or in other words, experience the ‘new birth’. For me, I personally experienced a totally transforming and a life-changing event that even more convinced me of God’s existence… Nowadays, the debate rages about ‘intelligent design’ v ‘evolution. Some of the greatest scientific minds of our day are starting to yield and re-think their positions under the weight of all the compelling ‘intelligent design’ evidence that is so overwhelming. In my view, a creation of the magnitude of Planet Earth necessitates a Creator. I think that it would take a lot of outrageous faith these days to be an atheist! When I asked my 9 year old daughter, ‘How do you know that God exists?’ She promptly answered, ‘How would we exist if He didn’t?’”

WORD OF MOUTH PROMOTION

Billy hopes to broaden his fan-base in the USA and the UK and in particular target the Christian/Country markets. He has completed a new Country-Americana album this year (2006) that he will be releasing early next year. He has also started on a new Gospel album as well that I hopes to finish in the New Year. Billy says, “I hope to be able to go on writing songs that I love to sing, and making the best records I can, Then I hope to go around the country performing those songs. Being able to work steadily all these years is a blessing and a success in itself. Via the word-of-mouth, people tell other people about me and my music. With a positive media profile plus the word-of-mouth from audiences, I’m pleased that the news is getting around internationally about my music.”

Radio Listeners and DJ's worldwide 2007 ICMA NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR NOMINEE Jonathan Sherrill has just released his brand new CD "BLUE SKY DAY" with 11 fantastic songs which are sure to get your request lines lighting up as never before. Jonathan's Debut International Single now coming to Country Radio " Who's Side I'm On" Skyrocketed to No. 3 in Sept. on Christian Country Charts. Request Your Copy Today!

Jonathan Sherrill was born in Horseshoe Beach a small fishing village in the Big Bend area in Florida.

Growing up in a family where both sides were musically inclined, it came natural for Jonathan to learn to play the guitar and sing. Around the age of 10 he began singing with his sister in church.

At the age of fifteen Jonathan and his two buddies started a small band. That soon fell apart and the normal life of a teenager set in.

While still in high school Jonathan started taking flight lessons and at the age of seventeen had earned his private pilot license. After three years of hard studying and lessons he had earned his multi engine commercial pilot license. And at the age of eighteen he had landed a part time corporate copilot job based out of Cross City, Florida. “Before I started taking flight lessons I told myself ‘I am either going to be an airline pilot or a singer” he says.

Jonathan’s dream was to fly for a major airline but after the 9/11 tragedy when the airlines began to lay off seasoned pilots he decided to get rooted in something a little more certain.

“I have a great job and love it, but I have always wanted to record an album and perform live shows so I went to Nashville and recorded ‘Whose Side I’m On’ “ says Jonathan.

Jonathan began writing songs when he was sixteen. “I want every song I write to have meaning and really come from my heart. I critique every song I write and try to put it out there in a way to really drive the message home” he says.

A Big Gospel Classics welcome to Artist "Ron Carpenter"

My Story

Becoming a Christian Country singer/songwriter was never really
a part of my plan. I started playing guitar when I was just a
youngster. My musical influences for guitar were Chet Atkins and
Merle Travis. In my teen years I started playing professionally. I
had the opportunity to tour in the era when Grand Ole Opry Stars
would play County Fairs across the nation, and fill grandstands
every night.
I followed the guitar wherever it would take me and soon found
myself in Texas, playing in a western swing band. In Texas my
sense of music matured a great deal. I developed a true
appreciation for the vocalist. Some of my favorites were Ray Price,
Wynn Stewart, Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, and of course you
can't play in Texas without Bob Wills and western swing.
For the majority of my life I played guitar or steel guitar with scores
of groups that were each forgettable it their own way. I remember
many nights sitting on the bandstand behind my steel guitar
wondering who I was glorifying by doing this?
At a particularly low point I realized that God had blessed me with
some special talents and that I had let them wither away or wasted
them in pursuit of the wrong goals. It was at that point I decided to
do at least some of my musical work in His name. If God chose to
use my humble talents for His purpose, then I would work as hard
as I could to do my best for Him.
From that point on more and more new songs and talented people
have worked their way into my life. To be honest, I don't know
where all of this will lead to. I only hope you enjoy my music as
much as I enjoy creating it.

Sincerely,
Ron

Swaddled by the spotlights of such vaunted halls as The Ryman auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry, performing with legends whose careers have spanned three times as long as she has been alive, Amber Morgan has quietly given a voice and a face to the next generation of Country Music Superstars.

Amber, in only a few short years, has managed to focus the entire Country Music world in her direction, going so far as to earn the Tennessee Country Music Associations Career Achievement award at the tender age of fourteen. With a difficult touring schedule, the upcoming release of her much awaited seventh CD, and countless public appearances, you would think that such a young performer would be overwhelmed, but Amber remains an excited and ebullient young star with a smile that continues to melt audiences and fans all over the world.

"I can’t really imagine myself doing anything else. I love everything about what I am doing and I especially love how the fans have taken to my music."- Amber

Amber has become a consummate professional and performer. Schooled in Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Voice since the age of five, it is truly impossible to label her as just a singer or just a dancer. She is extremely talented in both disciplines but has focused her energy on her first and deepest love, singing to adoring audiences. Her recordings to date represent her many influences in music. She delivers up both tender heart-wrenching Christian Gospel standards as well as rowdy, boot-stomping Country favorites. Her highly acclaimed originals infuse traces of both genres for an altogether unique performance that has captured a host of accolades, a barrage of air-play and a veritable mob of fans.

Through it all, Amber remains exactly what she conveys in her music, a sweet seventeen-year-old girl with a big heart and a wild excitement for life. She didn’t mean to climb to the top of the charts, she didn’t expect to be able to perform with the biggest legends in the business, and she didn’t try to become the most honored young performer in the business, but she has done all three of those things. When asked about her rocket ride to success, Amber smiles bashfully and replies…"I’m just having some fun."

I was born in Mobile Ala. on New Years Eve. 1950. In my younger years helped Grandfather in cotton fields after school and weekends .I was always singing and loved singing in church. I sang with different bands during my teenage years in Mississippi,
After finishing school moved to Orlando Fl. during the construction boom and didn't sing much, to busy working. Then Karaoke came out in 1989 and I got hooked on it, started singing all over central Fl. area and people would tell me I needed to do something with my music. I won a few contests and got a certificate to record at Chartbuster Studios. I recorded my first album with them. Then entered a contest in Kissimmee Fl. and was offered contract with KMA Records by Keith Bradford.
I recorded my album "Two Step Therapy" in March, 2004, with KMA. and showcased at the TCMA show in April, where I met my wonderful promoter Rhonnie Scheuerman, of RhonBob Promotions. She works very hard for all her artists, I was blessed
when she took me on board. I was nominated for a award from the Texas River awards show an nominated for the Trailblazer award from the King Eagle awards show in Sept.
I have sang at various Moose lodges and American Legions in the central Fl. area, Cypress Lakes Fish camp in KenyansvilleFI., Becky's bar and grill, and various other places. I have been on TV in the Chattanooga Tn. area on channel 3 there and on Nashville video showcase filmed at HoboJos in the Nashville area.
I'm very proud and happy to say all of my songs are being played here in the U.S. and overseas, and have been on the Worldwide Major and Indie Charts since they came out. They are also being played on Paltalk and have appeared on the "One On One Ministries" Gospel Classics as well.
My second album titled "That's All She Wrote", was released in Jan. and doing well also. I also have 3 singles that has recently been released. Two of them were written by my friend And promoter, Rhon Scheuerman /'And Jesus Wept" and "I'm Dreaming and Drifting Thru The Fifties". The Third single is a beautiful patriotic song titled "God Will Bless America Tonight", Written and produced by Ed Gowens of Echota Records. I am now working on some new Gospel and country songs and hope to release gospel album in July. I thank God every day for giving me a gift I can share with everyone. ,,,?,, ~ ~"

Gospel Classics Welcomes "Grand Ole Opry Star"

Ernie Ashworth!

Bio: At one time Grand Ole Opry Star Ernie Ashworth did guided missile work...Until his songs began to shoot up the country charts like rockets.

Ernie's biggest hit, and the one that brought him to the Opry in 1964, was " Talk Back Trembling Lips." A number #1 Hit for Ernie in 1963. Not only did it stand on the national country charts for 36 weeks, the song made a good showing on the pop charts, making it one of the first crossover records.

Although, Ernie did not write this killer hit, he has enjoyed good success as a songwriter. The Huntsville, Alabama native said he could write songs long before he could play music. The young Opry fan early on learned to play guitar and sing, and by age 20 was featured on radio station WBHP in Huntsville.

From there he moved to Nashville and between 1949 and 1955 worked for several radio stations, including WLAC and WSIX. His initial success in the entertainment business, however, came from writing songs for country stars such as: Little Jimmy dickens, Carl Smith, Johnny Horton, Wilma Lee Cooper and Paul Anka who recorded Ernie's song : " I Wish ".

At one time he was signed as an exclusive writer for Accuff-Rose, Nashville's first music publishing company, by Wesley Rose who got Ernie a recording deal with MGM in 1955. Although he had several singles for the label, he didn't catch on as a singer, so he returned to Huntsville and went to work for the army's Redstone Arsenal, doing guided missile work. Three years later, Wesley Rose called to say he had gotten Ernie a record deal at Decca Records. Billed as Ernest Ashworth, the young singer's first single on the label, " Each Moment Spent With You" was a top 5 hit. The same year "You Can't Pick A Rose In December" went Top 10 and the next year "Forever Gone" went Top 20.

In 1962 Ernie changed to Hickory Records, a label owned by Acuff-Rose, and immediately scored another hit with "Everybody But Me" which went Top 5. Next came a Top 10 Hit with "I Take The Chance". His third single for the new label was the number #1 smash "Talk Back Trembling Lips".

In 1963 and 1964 Ernie was voted the "Most Promising Male Artist" by Cashbox, Billboard and Record World. Also in 1964, his lifelong dream came true when he joined the Grand Ole Opry cast, on March 7th. Young Ernie next scored more Hits, the Top 10 "A Week In The Country," the Top 5 "I Love To Dance With Annie" and the Top 15 "Pushed In A Corner." Other Hits followed, including "Because I Cared," "The D.J. Cried," "I Wish," "AT Ease Heart," "Sad Face" and "A New Heart."

For ten years from 1960 to 1970 every record Ernie released made the national charts. Of these, 12 were Top 10 Hits. In between Hits Ernie appeared on the Silver Screen in the movie "The Farmers Daughter" in 1965, not only is Ernie a successful singer and songwriter, He is a businessman too. In 1989 He bought radio station WSLV in Ardmore, Tennessee, 20 miles from Huntsville, Alabama.

In 1991 He received the "Living Legend Award" from the Major Independent Record Label Awards Show and that year Curb Records released an album of original recordings of some of his Top 10 Hits from the 1960's. In 1992 He was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall Of Fame, recorded a new album on Playback Records and enjoyed some success with his single "You Changed A Rollin' Stone." The next year He contributed songs on a new gospel album on the Playback Label and in 1993 had a single "I Wish" on the independent charts.

In 1999 Ernie's career again took off like a rocket when he recorded his 35th Grand Ole Opry Anniversary CD. One of the country songs on the CD "She Don't Drink, She Don't Smoke, But She Lies" hit the number # 4 spot on the European Country Music Charts. One of the gospel songs on the CD "Far Side Banks Of Jordan" hit the number #35 spot on the Gospel Charts. He had a number #1 song on the Independent National Charts "Lonely Only Bar." In May of 1999 Ernie was voted the #1 most programmed Independent Artist in Europe. Ernie is still an active member of the Grand Ole Opry and still plays road dates.

 Gospel Classics Welcomes Faithful Heart!

Greetings! We are a Christian country & western band. We serve a GREAT GOD who has blessed us, kept us together, and given us a ministry that we love! Back in 1974-75 the group was formed, since then we have traveled the northwest singing in churches, camps, rodeos, and various special events. We take the gospel wherever we go. People enjoy what they hear, receive more than just music, and recognize the Blessing of GOD on our ministry.

Our invitation to you:
Faithful Heart has been called by God into a unique ministry. We love to share it! We especially want to thank the radio producers and programs that have aired our music. We see this as one more avenue of sharing God's love and expanding our reach. We are a faith-based non-profit group. There is no set fee to a host church or organization. The ministry is funded solely by love offerings or by the preferred arrangements of our hosts. All funds received go directly toward ministry expenses.
We are sensitive to the people we minister to. We work closely with pastors and other folks in leadership to ensure that our concert ministry enhances their ongoing work. We want to add to the big picture in a positive, God honoring way.
We invite YOU to contact us. We know that God has given Faithful Heart something to share that you don't want to miss!
For over 30 years we have been lead to serve the Lord with a concert ministry in our region, the beautiful Pacific Northwest. There are seven versatile, dedicated Christians in the band. Each of us shares the good news with the unique personalities and abilities God has given to us. Faithful Heart's "trademark" sound is tight vocal harmony matched with pleasing band arrangements. Our instrumentation includes acoustic guitars, lead guitar, bass, steel guitar, and drums. On various numbers we also feature the Dobro, mandolin, stand-up bass, banjo or harmonica. Our songs are original, written by band member, Wayne Graber. The musical styles span a wide spectrum from Classic Western to Country Swing, to Bluegrass. We notice that people of all ages and walks of life enjoy our concerts. We have fun and we worship. People tend to join in.
Faithful Heart is a faith-based, non-profit ministry funded by donations, love offerings or the preferred arrangements of our hosts. We have given concerts at churches, auditoriums, camps, parks, community festivals as well as some barns and rodeo grounds. Faithful heart is not in "the business" but we are professional. In every circumstance we desire to bring honor to the Lord as we share the music he has given us. The CD's have been recorded as a natural outgrowth of our concert ministry. In the past few years we have expanded our borders by sending our music to various radio stations.
We have 5 CD's:
Till' The Music Takes You Home
Endless Love
Wanted Man
Sound of Thunder
Faithful Heart
They are listed on our web-site which includes the "General Store". It is possible to purchase items on line, by mail or by phone. Keep watch for a new CD before the end of the year.
