SonRise Quartet

SonRise Quartet:

SonRise Southern Gospel Quartet began in 2001 as a ministry of Faith Center Assembly of God Church in Graham, Texas.
The Quartet consists of Ricky Oakes singing lead, Shelby Oakes singing bass, Ronnie Armstrong Jr. singing baritone, and Ladd Johnson singing tenor.
SonRise sings a variety of southern gospel favorites, old time hymns, and original songs written by the members of the quartet, and by a friend and collaborator, William Proffitt.
SonRise seeks to minister in song and in the Word, encouraging everyone they meet to have a closer walk with Jesus Christ.

Ricky Oakes,
Hello everyone. Welcome to SonRise! My name is Rick Oakes. Praise God, we as a group have only begun. I sing lead in the group and have been doing Southern Gospel my whole life. We want you to be blessed and God to be exalted.

Shelby Oakes,
Hello everyone. My name is Shelby Oakes and I sing bass for SonRise. I guess I would have to say that being from Phoenix City, Alabama, my musical roots are grounded in Southern Gospel. My prayer for this ministry is for God's Word to be spread on fruitful ground, for if our music doesn't spread the salvation message of Jesus Christ....then it's all for naught. I want to also thank my beautiful wife, Jennifer, for her love and support in our ministry.

Ronnie Gene Armstrong Jr.,
I was born in Memphis, Tn., but raised in Texas. My musical interest comes from my father who was a minister and loved to sing. God gave me this talent to be a tool to spread the Good News of the Gospel.

Ladd Johnston,
Praise the Lord! The recording we've been praying and working so hard for is finally done. I give the glory to God for what He is doing with SonRise. I love to see people encouraged in the Lord and God is truly using SonRise to do just that! I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to our family at Faith Center, and to thank our pastor, Charlie Bazan. You all have loved us and blessed us in so many ways. I want to thank my sweet wife, Monica, and my two little girls, Marley and Libby. Your support means everything to me. I was raised in a musical family in Dallas, Texas. My wife and I, along with our children, now reside in Graham, Texas where I am the music director at Faith Center Assembly of God.
